Africa is a Woman’s Name is a documentary that defends gender equality as an essential requirement to reduce poverty and as a basic value in the development of democracy and the construction of a brighter future. Telling the stories of three women in three different countries, the project was directed by and created for African women. Focussing on the story of Zimbabwean housemaid Amai Rosie, Ingrid Sinclair directed one of the three films, resulting in a very personal reflection on overcoming conflict and moving forward as a woman in Zimbabwe.
